Route description

Moderate mountain route starting from the Jitu de Escarandi pass, ascending to Pico Samelar (2,227 m) and Pico San Carlos, also known as Sagrado Corazón (2,393 m), two of the highest peaks in the eastern massif.

The route combines well-marked trails with more open sections over limestone terrain, in a vast and solitary landscape characteristic of the Ándara massif. The views from both summits are spectacular, spanning the entire central massif, the coastline, and the mountains of Liébana.
