Hike description
A challenging and very mountainous circular route to Cornón de Peña Sagra (2,042 m), starting and finishing at the Invernales de Tánago. The itinerary begins by climbing the Canal de la Vega, a direct and steady ascent over rocky and grassy terrain that quickly gains elevation toward the summit ridge.
From the upper part of the canal, the route connects with the ridge leading to the Cornón, the highest point of Peña Sagra, offering spectacular panoramic views of Liébana, the Picos de Europa, and the Montaña Palentina.
The descent follows the Canal del Carro, a steep and technical downhill section — the perfect way to complete a demanding yet truly alpine circular route through one of the wildest and most remote areas of the range.
