Cabaña Verónica y Horcados Rojos

Hike description

A classic route in Picos de Europa that starts from the upper cable car station at around 1,800 meters above sea level. The trail winds through dramatic limestone landscapes until it reaches the remote Cabaña Verónica — the highest mountain hut in the National Park. From there, the path climbs up to the summit of Horcados Rojos, offering breathtaking views of the Naranjo de Bulnes and other towering peaks.

The terrain is rocky and somewhat challenging, with exposed sections. It’s ideal for hikers with some experience who are eager to reach one of the iconic summits of the Picos de Europa.
